It's that time of year again! Elementary, Middle and High Schools are participating in the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee & WKRN Nashville's News 2 annual school food drive running through October. Food2Families is not only an opportunity for our local schools to help fight hunger in Middle Tennessee, but also an opportunity to show school children that they too can make a difference in service of their community.
On the first day of school, children experiencing hunger will have already fallen behind their classmates. They will have more difficulty concentrating in class, be sick more often during the school year, and be less likely to excel academically. Join in the fight against hunger so that every child can start the school year off right. Each year, the Food2Families Food Drive raises more than 200,000 pounds of food annually.
How You Can Help
By supporting the Food2Families Virtual Food Drive, your gift will provide hope to those in need. .96 cents of every dollar goes directly to Second Harvest’s feeding programs. All Food2Families Virtual Food Drive donations are used to fund programs within the county they originated. To designate a school affiliation, please select the name of your school from the drop down menu on the donation page. Together, we will fight hunger and feed hope.
Thank you to our sponsors WKRN, Kroger and Cornerstone Financial for their support of the Food2Families.
