100-mile run raises 36,000 meals
Tony White, a Realtor and Ultra Endurance Coach who lives in Nashville, raised nearly $9,000 through a virtual food drive, which he tied to a 100-mile run through Davidson County.
“Once every sporting event in the country was canceled (including the marathon I was going to run) I wanted to find a way to help the community while also finding a new way to push my limits."
In four short weeks, they raised more than $84,000 during the Battle of the Briefcase competition!
Battle of the Briefcase began last year when local accountant firms decided to take on the legal community in a friendly food fight competition to help raise hunger awareness and funds for those in need. This year, 14 accounting firms and 7 legal firms participated through employee giving campaigns in partnership with Second Harvest with a goal of raising $75,000.
Firms promoted the competition, offered incentives and rallied support from their staff, clients, vendors and families. The results far surpassed the goal and more than $84,000 was raised!
